Last Days in Lima – and Squirrelss

Our last days in Lima felt a bit like wandering through a living postcard… with the occasional surprise staring back at you.

We stumbled across another brilliant local market—piles of colourful fruit we couldn’t name, juices we bravely tried, and yes… guinea pigs, we admired them. We did not eat them…….yet.

A slow wander through Parque El Olivar was something else entirely. Olive trees, planted over 400 years ago by the Spanish conquistadors, standing there like they’ve seen it all—and probably have. It felt a little surreal, like history quietly breathing around us.

Throw in a steady stream of friendly locals, more dogs than we could pat, and that easy Lima warmth… and it’s safe to say, this place knows how to leave a lasting impression.

A massive thank you to Zully, Dani and Anthony for hosting us, feeding us far too well, and showing us around like locals. Experiences like that don’t just make a trip—they make the memories.

Onward and upward to Cusco—where the air gets thinner, the history gets thicker, and our sense of direction will no doubt be tested all over again.

You two must really have sensory overload!🤣Makes all the difference staying with locals – what a great experience. Can’t wait for you to see Cusco and all the ruins!😊

Really looking forward to the trec. However we have some exploring to do before that.
